Fascias & Soffits

Fascias carry your guttering and close off the roof edge; soffits close the underside of the eaves. When timber boards rot or PVC-u boards come loose, gutters pull away and the roof edge is exposed.

Finding the Cause

• Peeling paint, soft timber and gutters that will not stay level often mean the fascia behind has rotted.
• Staining under the eaves can point to water getting behind the gutter.

How the Work Is Done

• Old boards are removed and the rafter ends behind are checked.
• Damaged timber is repaired before new PVC-u boards are fixed.
• Eaves trays are fitted where the underlay has rotted at the edge.
• Gutters are refitted with new brackets.

Repair or Replace?

A short damaged section can be replaced on its own. Where boards are failing along the house, replacing the whole run with gutters refitted is usually tidier and more economical.
